If each industrial grade ONU uses more than one fiber optic to connect to the ODN, there will be more than one physical interface. The industrial grade ONU service function block provides user side functions, including providing user service interfaces and adapting user information to 64kbit/s or n x 64kbit/s formats; This functional block can serve one or several users and provide signaling conversion functionality based on its physical interface. The industrial grade ONU universal function block provides power supply function and system operation, management, and maintenance (OAM) function. The power supply function includes AC to DC or DC to AC, and the power supply method is local power supply or remote power supply. Several ONUs can share a power source, and industrial grade ONUs should also be able to work normally when powered by a backup power source.
