In the increasingly bustling cities, highways extend in all directions. As a major transportation artery, traffic violations and accidents occur frequently, so the monitoring measures of highways are particularly important in harsh conditions. The harsh on-site environment and single laying method all limit the planning and design of highway monitoring schemes. The most important thing in design is to facilitate the laying of lines at various monitoring points, while using industrial grade equipment to ensure the effective operation of the system.

The monitoring system is mainly divided into two parts: the monitoring center and the field equipment. The field monitoring equipment mainly includes traffic information monitoring, meteorological environment monitoring, road condition detection, information board, and abnormal condition monitoring. And these highway monitoring systems require the use of industrial switches, the establishment of an industrial ring network, the connection of toll gates, monitoring video servers for each section of the highway, emergency phones, tunnel safety monitoring platforms, etc., and the construction of the highway monitoring system using industrial switch ring networks.

According to the design requirements, a monitoring point is adopted for segmented monitoring of the line. A monitoring substation is set up in each section, and high-definition cameras are used for monitoring in each section of the line. Video information is aggregated through a ring network switch, and then each monitoring point is aggregated at the monitoring substation through ring network redundancy. The monitoring substation converges on the gigabit Ethernet network of the monitoring center through the gigabit Ethernet optical network channel, and then transmits video data to the monitoring screen for real-time control of the traffic situation on the highway.
